"I have been looking for a chair like this for over a year now, I am glad I waited. I am very pleased with this product. It came in a large box with handles, 63lbs. I was able to get it in the house myself; the chair was wrapped in bubble wrap and inside a large plastic bag. The color is a bit darker then on my computer screen, it had no smell- or off gassing. We have been sitting in it over three weeks now and the seat is holding shape, looks like the day it arrived. It does have a stiff backrest, but I prefer that for long spells of reading, the arms are big enough to hold a hot cup of tea or a small snack plate. 4' wide 25' deep and 9' from the seat. I love sitting curled up in it reading. The wood supports are covered in foam under the leather, I pushed around the whole chair and no skimping even on the bottom rails. The seams are sown even and tight, it took time to find a place to tell if it was thread or fishing wire, it is sown with thread. Knowing its frame is made from sustainable hard wood right here in America is an added bonus as I am always looking at those eco miles & carbon footprint. It stands 15' off the floor to the seat, seat is 20' deep and 20' from seat to top with no headrest, which again for me is a plus as people tend to wear a lot of hair product and they can make headrests smell. This chair is great. "

    "The Pinzon Lombardy Club Chair is a great piece. The product dimensions (31 x 30 x 31) are correct and if you are thinking that is smaller than many chairs out there, you would be correct. I for one, was looking for a chair that is smaller (for me, normal) and this one fit exactly what I needed. It seems that the trend today is to have nothing but huge chairs. This is a perfect addition as a sitting chair in a bedroom, den, office, etc.

The cushion cannot be removed (another trend that I hate to see on furniture). So cleaning and/or replacing the cushion filling would not be easy. However, the stitching looks to be be top notch. The frame itself is sturdy. It feels and looks like a chair that would last for many years to come. That's actually surprising considering the weight of the piece. I was able to move it up the stairs by myself. Of course, that would vary for everyone.

As all other reviewers have noted, this chair is darker than it appears in the product photos. In low lighting it can certainly come across as black. That was not a huge deal to me, but be careful if you are trying to match styles/colors. The back was about mid-height. It would be difficult to rest your head on, but it provides more than ample support for your back. I found it to be very comfortable to use the chair while on the laptop, watching TV, or reading. "

    "I am impressed by the Pinzon Lombardy Club Chair for how nice it looks. The bonded leather covering looks very real, not fake or tacky. It is a glossy finish with a slightly distressed texture to it, not entirely smooth. The leather isn't as thick feeling as other leather furniture I've tried, so I can't say how well it will wear with heavy use. The color resembles dark chocolate or black coffee. The frame is sturdy and the cushioning firm, though the seat cushion is not removable.

The chair is not big. When thinking of a club chair I picture a big, massive piece of furniture. The Pinzon Lombardy Club Chair is more appropriate for someone with a smaller frame. I'm 5'9" with longish legs and I feel as though I am sitting in a chair not really designed for lounging and relaxing, more for sitting up and behaving politely in. There is not a lot of room in the seat width to hold a child or pet together with you, or in the seat depth to support the upper legs all the way to the knee. The back doesn't go all the way up to rest your head against. Not to say it is a bad chair, it just isn't a big chair that I can imagine myself curling up in for hours with a good book.
I'd say Pinzon Lombardy Leather Club Chair is a good choice for someone with a small space not appropriate for big furniture or as an occasional chair where it's not going to get heavy use. "

    "I ordered Pinzon Lombardy Leather Club Chair on Thursday and was surprised that the freight company called Friday morning to let me know it would be delivered Monday, Dec. 22. The chair arrived, well wrapped and padded and undamaged on Monday.
The chair is made of "bonded leather". I had no idea what that was and didn't know what to expect in terms of quality, but was pleasantly surprised. According to Wikipedia, bonded leather is "an artificial material composed of 80% to 100% leather fibers (often waste scraps from leather tanneries or leather workshops). It consists of collagen fibers obtained from macerated hide pieces bonded together with latex binders constructed into a fibrous mat to create a look and feel similar or sometimes identical to that of genuine leather but at a fraction of the cost. Depending on the quality a man-made pattern is usually discernible as a "grain-like" look." The Pinzon Lombardy Club Chair really does have the feel and grain of real leather and is constructed on a sturdy hardwood frame. The cushioning is dense and it is extremely comfortable to sit in.
The dimensions of the chair are not big (31X30X31) but it is comfortable seating for my mid-sized husband and doesn't feel too big for me. You should know that the color of this Pinzon chair, Chocolate, is in reality darker than pictured on this page -- it is a deeper, richer brown and has the "grained" look of real leather. The chair can be spot cleaned and the cushions are not removable. We put it in my husband's den."

    "Finally a spacious one seater that could be placed anywhere and match many varient shades of wood tones! This Pinzon chair sports a dark chocolate color in a non-chunky smooth shape. It just adds the right amount of character with its perfectly blended and subtle aged wrinkles. It's seat is semi-firm. The cushions are not removable, nonetheless, it is effortless to wipe down and maintain. And although it looks like there may be a high back to it - there is not. Pinzon Lombardy Leather Club Chair is mid to low back in height when sitting. The feel of the fabric is smooth and looks tough(will hold up to kids). I love that it is very stylish and appeals to my husband's taste(hard to do). We put this in his study/ music room and I have to say, it made the room very modern and inviting. I am absolutely thrilled it is now part of our collection! "

    "As the other member mentioned, the color is actually darker and richer than the picture, even in the sunlight. (Please refer to the image I provided.) The color is very neutral and almost like dark espresso. The shape of it is very modern and stream-lined. That means it fits in both contemporary and traditional rooms. It is great for lounging or pairing in a room.
This is, however, not the kind of chair you could sink in in and have a book with you for a good long time. The surface is smooth but not the best quality kind of look. That is why I give it a 4-star rating. Despite this little issue, this is a very elegant and neutral looking chair. With the price, it is a good buy. "
